Bond Girls Victory Live

In 2009 Peugeot commissioned Bond to record Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” to advertise the 308CC. Bond has been described as the best selling string quartet of all time, selling over 4 million records.
If someone you know is grumpy or sad send them this video. Seriously.

Motorola Musical Instrument. Not sure why they call it that. I don’t see that mentioned in ad copy, other than the headline. Maybe someone knows?

New Order – Elegia Full Version (audio)

Due to the youtube limitations, this 17 minute track has to be split up into 2 videos. I have requested the audio from the maker of the video and hope to have it soon. However, if you have never heard this song before, I think you will find that it has a sad melody that [...]

Herb Albert and Tres Delinquences (video)

Herb Albert, the great trumpet player from the 60s and 70s had many number one hits when album sales were all the rage. Here is a pre-MTV music video of their song “The Lonely Bull” shot in a stadium.
What is interesting about this song is that 30 years later a rap group lifted the horn [...]

Doors – Crystal Method Remix (Video)

As I was looking for some USB Midi Controllers, I came across this video of Crystal Method remixing an old Doors song. This has the heart attack inducing thumping bass track and stuttering arpeggiatted synths that Crystal Method is known for. Taking a classic and turning it into dance floor fodder is highly enjoyable. Not [...]

Thank God I’m Satisfied (mp3)

In 2003, I wrote this song, which took clips from the JFK Inaugural Speech, mixed in a public domain folk song (Thank God I’m Satisfied) and some synths & drums. Here is the text of the audio:
“For I have sworn before you and almighty God, the same solemn oath, our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three-quarters [...]

Johnny Cash vs Cypress Hill (Video/Mp3)

Keeping with yesterday’s post about country music, here is a little treat for those who enjoy Johnny Cash (I know I do).
Cut with a beat from Cypress Hill, this is gives the song a new groove for the 2000’s + . My only complaint is that it isn’t longer.
Of course I found this track on [...]

Celtic Woman – Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (video)

Here is a beautiful version of Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring done by “Celtic Woman” (Live). This is supposedly not the way Bach wanted this piece to be played. Today it is played slowly and reverently (as heard here)
3 part harmonies towards the end and a full orchestra make this version one of the best I’ve [...]

NBC Sunday Mystery Movie Intro (video)

When I was about 4 years old, I remember standing close to the TV, watching this and listening to this intro. I also remember my dad whistling along. About 2 years ago I went on a quest to find this “TV theme song” which never really was a theme.  That is why I couldn’t find it.
Recently, [...]

Major Tom Revisited (video)

Late last summer I did a post about “Space Oddity” by David Bowie. Earlier this week, I got a call from my daughter telling me she saw a commercial with the song in it, but done by a different artist.
She called me because the commercial reminded her of me. In her honor, I am posting [...]
